My interpretation of a Tyrannosaurus Rex.
First full creature sculpt in a while, sculpted fully in ZBrush starting with zSpheres to practice the full pipeline.
Sculpted the Primary and Secondary Shapes in ZBrush before retopoed and UV’ed in Maya before returning to zBrush for projection and further sculpting into the secondary and tertiary shapes.
Textures painted in Substance Painter.
Final renders in Maya using Redshift Render.
I enjoyed going through this project from start to finish but I think in future projects I will spend more time drawing out the tertiary like the scales manually. I did this for the face initially but for the body wanted to speed it up so used some custom alphas but these have resulted in a slightly softer feel to the scales on the body.
